An up-and-coming figure skater's career is put in jeopardy.
Above is a proof of concept short film for a television series with the pilot developed as a part of
Stowe Story Labs TV Writers Room. The Stowe TV Writer’s Room is an online writing programme for episodics.
Please note the television pilot adaption has changed significantly from the short film.
The television pilot is called “Silent Blades” that follows an Olympic hopeful who returns
to pairs figure skating after a traumatic car crash and struggles with her deteriorating hearing
in pursuit of her dream. However, her new figure skating partner is the husband of the man who was killed
during the car crash that almost ruined her career.
The pilot was a quarterfinalist in the ScreenCraft TV Pilot Script Competition and
ScreenCraft Screenwriting Fellowship and semifinalist in the Cinequest Screenwriting Competition
and Outstanding Screenplay TV Pilot Competition. It also took part in
Take Your TV Pilot From Good To Great With David Hannam through Media Mentors Australia.
